Regrettably, due to the impact of Covid19 restrictions, we now have to abandon plans for the BCYA English Coast Rally which was due to take place in Bristol Harbour over the weekend 7th-9th August. This was the last of our planned rallies for this year and here at the BCYA we are now turning our attentions to planning some great rallies for next year. Starting with the BCYA Seafair Rally in Milford and followed by the best ever Welsh Coast and English Coast rallies!

This idea was sent in by Idris Dibble a Sonata owner from Cardiff. Nice to see the BCYA house flag there. Red for Wales, Blue for the Bristol Channel, White for England !

The first minister of Wales today announced that the Stay Local restriction with a guidence distance of 5miles will be lifted on the 6th July. Many Welsh clubs are more than 5 miles away from the bulk of their members so for them, this signals the real return to sailing. From the 13th July people from the same household will also be able to overnight on their boat. It is likely that your club or marina will have new rules to guide you which you should acquaint yourself with before returning to your boat and please do not assume that visitors are welcome at this time, check before you visit ! Finally 2m social distancing and regular handwashing remain as relevant as ever.
